Wedding in Buriram
April 13, 2003
I was upstairs at Nat's and all of a sudden I heard a flute being played and laughing and singing. I looked out and couldn't beleive what I saw. One man was playing a wooden pipe flute (not sure what to call it), one was keeping rhythym with a spoon and botte, one of them carried a small tree with money attacthed to it, and one of them had on a wedding dress. I had no idea what was going on until Nat explained that there was a wedding, and the tradition is to walk around to all of the houses in the village to collect donations from everyone. I'm not sure if the wedding dress is part of the tradition or not, though.
