Weaving in Khon Kaen

We visted Chu's house to meet his great aunt and to watch her work at her weaving loom. Note the two spindles of thread that she was using. One is the background/border color and the other is the design. She alternates between them. First the background thread goes through and gets a good whack whack to put it in place. Next the design thread goes through. She very carefully lines up the pattern before she gives it a whack whack. Then she does it all again and again and again and... [Khon Kaen, Thailand]
