Big Gong in Southern Thailand

Here I am trying to sound the gong underneath the main chedi at Wat Phra Mahathat. The idea is that if you rub your hand across the gong, it should make a nice low sound. I was unable to do it, much to the amusement of the Thai family watching. [Nakorn Si Thammarat, Thailand]
