Khao Lak was one of the hardest hit areas from the December 2004 Tsunami. This navy boat was just off the coast, here to protect the members of the royal family who were vacationing here. The tsunami hit, and this boat was beached.... ALMOST TWO KILOMETERS INLAND! It has been left as a memorial to the hundreds who lost their lives here, including the King's grandson.
