Matrix Reloaded

The Matrix opened in Thailand last night and so of course I had to go see it. I'll give it a "Just OK". The effects were good at times, but other times it all seemed like I was watching a friend play Nitendo.

I was wondering how the movie was received by the Thai audience. There were Thai subtittles of course, but I would think that this movie would be much more fun to watch, rather than read. I did notice that the audience got a little restless during the long monologues.

The best part of the movie was, by far, only paying 180 baht (US$4.20) for the movie ticket, and a large popcorn and coke. The days of getting robbed at the Sony Metreon in San Francisco seem very far away.

Dang Stuart! $4.20 for popcorn, coke and movie! That would set me back about $17.00 per person here in Chicago. ($9.95 for ticket the rest for the refreshments) And of course, the Matrix is sold out through the weekend so I'm going to see X2 instead. I'll wait till next week or so. thanks for setting my expectations. I'll be sure to not be disappointed. :-)

I was afraid that was going to happen with the second movie. The first was quite entertaining, however a little hard to follow the premise (the first time I watched it) --- a good re-rental, though. :-) I have to say that I'll miss the second one, at least in the theaters. Even though I do not pay $9.95 for a ticket, $7.50 is still steep, and extremely expensive for a movie that isn't worth it's weight in gold. :-)

My philosophy on movies is that if I say to myself, "oh - that'll be a good rental," then I usually tend not to rent it, until one afternoon I truly want to do nothing but veg and just exist while non-sensical action takes place in front of my eyes and lights the walls of my living room.

Love you!!
