Happy Anniversary
Posted by Stuart at 04:51 PM on July 12, 2003By the way, today is the one-year anniversary of my blog. That is amazing to me. It seems like time has gone by very quickly, but if I think back on all that has happened in the past year, it seems like a very long time.
Over the past 365 days, 282 entries, 445 comments, and 426 pictures have been posted. Let's see how I do this year.
whats a blog?
The whatis.com website defines "blog" a lot better than I can:
"On a Web site, a blog, a short form for weblog, is a personal journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site and its purpose. Topics sometimes include brief philosophical musings, commentary on Internet and other social issues, and links to other sites the author favors. The essential characteristics of the blog are its journal form, typically a new entry each day, and its informal style.
"The author of a blog is often referred to as a blogger. People who post new journal entries to their blog may often say they blogged today, they blogged it to their site, or that they still have to blog."
Charles, thanks for your comments. I have been pleasantly surprised that this log has allowed me to meet a lot of new people (mostly virtually, like you) who I never would have had the opportunity to communicate with otherwise. Hopefully you will continue to find something interesting here.
Happy blog birthday mate. You are "required reading" for me.
Happy anniversary for your blog, Stuart.
Happy anniversary! It's time to celebrate then! I can't believe that you've been traveling more often than Thai people do. Hope you love and understand more and more about Thailand. :)
Hey Stuart,
Congratulations on the anniversary. I feel priviledged to be able to read about your adventures every week (or more often). While we haven't met in "meatspace" I feel like I know you well enough (at least vicariously) to call you friend. Having a love of Thailand and its people is one of the things I appreciate sharing with you. Thanks for sharing your life and thoughts.
Charles
