Europe Pics

I have finally uploaded a few pictures from my trip to Finland and Vienna. I haven't had time to write many comments yet, but you can look through them in my Pictures of Europe Photo Gallery.
In general, though, I felt fairly uninspired as I looked through my photos yesterday. I took over 100 photos over my week there, but had trouble finding ones suitable for posting. Usually in Asia, I have the opposite problem of having too many pictures to post. Was it because I did a bad job of taking pictures this time? Or that Finland and Vienna just weren't as photographically inspiring to me as Asia? Or, is Thailand inherently more photogenic? Hmmmm....
Lynn, thanks for the compliments on the picutres. I'm glad you liked them.
I use a 3 year old 2.1 Megapixel Cannon S10. It works pretty well, for the most part -- especially for pictures taken outside on a sunny day. It has a tendency to turn farang faces a sick yellow color when pictures are taken inside, though.
I also run every picture through the "Adjust - Auto Levels" feature in Photoshop which helps balance the colors a bit.
I think that cameras these days are all pretty good. 2.1 megapixels are enough for the web and for 4X6 sized photos. If you want to make poster-size prints, then you should get a higher resolution.
I think the most important thing these days is to find one that has a big optical (not digital) zoom.
Have fun shopping :)
Stuart-
The photos reminded my of my trips to Vienna and Helsinki last year. Thanks. The photo from Vienna that you have identified as "Palace?" is the Hofburg Palace. You're standing inside the Palace complex and I think the photo is of the SE quadrant of the Palace. The other unidentified photo is also of the Hofburg Palace, only this time, I believe you're taking the photo from outside the Palace complex, looking toward the SW.
I most certainly will have fun shopping. Thanks for the tips. :)
Heya Stuart, what gorgeous pics! I'm so jealous! :) Finland and Vienna look beautiful, and I especially love your city/street pics what with all that lovely architecture and such.
BTW, I was wondering, what camera do you use? I'm in the market for digital cameras and I remembered that your pics always come out looking so professional looking. :)
