Soon, an iPod
Posted by Stuart at 06:13 PM on December 16, 2004In a matter of hours I will be flying to America. The last week or so has been so crazy busy as I have been helping students get ready for final exams at work and running around shopping for gifts after work. But now I just have a few more errands left on my list and I am starting to get excited.
One of the things I am looking forward to in San Francisco (in addition to visiting my favorite city and some of my favorite people in the world, of course), is getting my hands on my new iPod. I ordered it back in October, thinking that I would pick it up then, but that trip was cancelled. Now, two months later, I will finally get it.
In the meantime, however, the iPod Photo has come out and now I want an upgrade! So, if I can sell my brand new one, I will get the iPod Photo (assuming the SF store has them in stock!)
So... does anyone want a brand new, unused 40 Gig 4th Generation iPod? They usually sell for US$399 + tax = US$430. I'll be happy to part with it for US$375. Any takers?
(Interestingly enough, iPods are very expensive in Thailand. This same model goes for over 20,000 baht. I'm selling mine for 15,000.)
Let me know if you'll be in P'cola over the holidays (or less likely, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, or Houston). I'll be there over 4 Christmas and New Year's to check out the damage and see if Joe Pattie's is open again. Mmmmm, Gulf shrimp and oysters. You might want to bring your own headphones (since they cost $2/set on domestic flights) and carry on your own booze too. Eat some clam chowder for me when you get to SF. I'll offer you $50 for the iPod. :)
Not only do US airlines make you pay for headphones, apparently they also make you pay for food. On my US Airways flight, headphones were $5 and food was $5. I couldn't believe it. At least the coke was free. The air hostess (or whatver you call them these days) said that this was the case since 9/11. And United is STILL going out of business. Unbelievable.
P.S. I need more than $50 for the iPod, wiseguy. Actually, though, I decided against the iPod Photo. The screen was just too small to justify the extra $100. I've been immensely enjoying the "regular" iPod though. It really rocks.
Stuart, safe travels and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family and friends. Enjoy San Francisco and wherever else you roam.
