Thoughts of Beth and Craig and Hurricane Dennis
Posted by Stuart at 10:21 PM on July 10, 2005
By the way, just a little small post here to say that my thoughts go out to my sister and her new husband in Florida as they are living through Hurricane Dennis right now. From the looks of the satilite photo to the right (click for a larger version), it looks like the weather is already pretty bad there, even though the eye won't hit for another 6 hours or so.
Jimmy Dillard?
If so .... HI!!!! I hope you and family made it through safely.
I talked with Eric this evening ... Hi Eric - I know you check SGs site every so often .....it was such a ... well ... practically indescribable - (sp?) feeling/surprise to hear your voice on the phone. heck - haven't seen you guys in YEARS!!! Anywhoo - friendships that are closest (even if they are my brother's and I was always "the little sister", so you are family friends by proxy ... haha!) do indeed last a lifetime!! So Jimmy Dillard, if this is you .... AWESOME!! :-)
Thank you, again, Eric, for calling ... it was wonderful to know that you, Lacey, and child(ren) (? - yes??) are back state-side, even though you will be in VA.
Thank you, my sweet fabulous protective brother, for calling and making sure we were and are okay. Family (YOU) is something that can never be replaced!!!!!!!
Love you!!!
Beth, yes, that's the same Jimmy Dillard that you remember. And I thought it would be nice for Eric to call you. I figured you'd appreciate the surprise.
Speaking of High School friends (like Jimmy and Eric) I recently got in touch with Betsy Book too. She lives in NYC. Guess I'm getting ready for my 20th high school reunion coming up. *shudder* hehe.
Anyway, Jimmy, thanks for the "on the ground report". I assume everything is ok with you now. (Although I am guessing you don't have electricity now.) And Beth, thanks for the "after the storm report". I'm glad that both you and Craig as well as Eric's family made it through safely.
- Stuart
hello Stuart, hello Beth (it's me!). with the exception of no power at home, all is well. at work now (with generator, AC, and a network connection...the essentials for life!). luckily this storm was nothing compared to Ivan last year.
20 years approaching...YIKES! I don't feel that old.
-jimmy-
I too have a few friends and loved ones living out in Florida, and am also concerned about their well-being. I hope your sister and her family keep safe from the hurricane.
hey stuart...live report from ground zero. 2 hours until it gets really bad. just camped out at my parents, surfing the net until the power goes out. i'm watching rain blow in two directions at the same time...very odd. i can't believe we're going through this yet again!
