Border Market in Laos

This is the scene at the Lao side of the Thai-Lao border at Chang Mek, looking back at the border. A very popular market stretches for almost a kilometer along both sides of the street. Lao people from Pakse ride for over an hour to get here. Perhaps they come to buy Thai goods that have just crossed the border?
