Robin Hood: An English Pub on Sukumvit Soi 33/1
Posted by Stuart at 02:10 PM on June 18, 2004A few weeks ago I mentioned the Londoner Pub on Sukumvit 33. I didn't have many nice things to say about it, except for the apple-pie-to-die-for. Luckily, I don't have to go back, because I found a new, much better Pub. It's called Robin Hood and its on the corner of the very next small soi (I think its Sumumvit 33/1).
Apparently it has only been open for a couple of weeks. The place was well-decorated, the one snack we had was quite tasty, and most importantly, the waitresses were very nice. Hopefully it will stay that way.
So, for those who are into the Pub scene, check out Robin Hood across from the Emporium at Phrom Phong BTS station.
ive walked past the Robin from building site to opening day... never been in, but yeah it looks nice... now i have a reason and report... may have to pop in for a JD n Cola!
Maybe we should have a "Thai Bloggers" get-together at the Robin Hood. Hmmm...
what you mean actually... you know... meet, like, "other" people? in that thing, the, um, "real world"... jeez.
what kind of drugs are you on to come up with that idea?
:D
hehe. it could work. you never know. are there enough of us?
Hey, a Thai bloggers get-together at Robin Hood sounds like fun. I've never been there before, but coincidentally I just saw an ad about it in the latest BK magazine. I'll make sure to check it out the next time in the Empo area!
Hmm... well, since a few people commented here, I guess a "Thai-based blogger meet" is possible.
Of course the problem with the idea is that there is a chance that none of us have anything in common with each other, other than we like to share our thoughts with the entire world. I sometimes laugh when I am travelling and meet someone from America. Wow! You speak English! And your grandmother lives in the same state as my parents! We can be great friends!
Would that happen to some random person you met on the street in the US? Of course not. :P
SO... having said that, I know of about 10 bloggers who live in Thailand (both Thai and Farang, male and female) and it is possible that some of them would be up for some Pub action. What do y'all think?
I kept meeting Americans when I was in China. They always seemed to know someone in London and would, naturally, assume that I also had heard of them.
Anyway, we'll be up for drinks. Especially if it's within staggering-home distance of home. ie the Robin Hood hehe :)
how will re recognise each other? (all wear green tights?)
Isabel and I will be the ones stabbing Mr. Peter. Um. Ahem.
Seriously though, which bloggers are up for it? If they all want to send me small photos I'll whack up a page on my server with them all :) Though I know what SG looks like (he's got a photo here) and we have galleries on our site... (no, I don't look like Hello Kitty).
Alls we need then is a time n date.
It's like herding cats.
Kevin
Herding cats indeed. Let's move this conversation to email and see if we can come up with a date. I'll send out an email to the addresses I have...
some foods is nice but some not ,my friends comment this ..:-).i think u should have "live"every night na..it would be better....but all of the pub is great..:-))
I used to love going to the Londoner, but then again, haven't been there in 6 years, so who knows how it might have changed since then?
