Its a sad day for fraternity party fans on the East Coast: Doug Clark of Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts has passed away at the age of 66 (external link). The Hot Nuts were one of the most popular bands to play at fraternity parties at my alma mater Washington and Lee. Sure their show was a bit risque and they never planned on making it big (as opposed to our other party favorites Boyd Tinsley and Dave Matthews) but their music was a whole lotta fun. I am sure Doug will be missed.

I am Billy Payne; the saxophonist for the Hot Nuts' band for 12 years. Sure Doug Clark Is missed, But his last request was that his brother(John Clark, jr.) and his Son (Monty Clark) keep performing under the name of Doug Clark's Hot Nuts (The Tradition Continues). The show must go on.
Hello Billy.
Thanks so much for stopping by -- and for commenting on my website and letting us all know that the "show must go on".
Unfortunately I don't think the Hot Nuts will have any tour dates in Thailand, but if you do, I'll be sure to be there!

Hello! I have the album from the 60's in my treasured collection of great singers! My son has heard me speak of Doug and the guys for years and to his great surprise, they played at his college, N.C. State two years ago(I think, the time is correct) Since then, I have been looking for a cd for him... Any help will be appreciated!! The legend lives on...with this generation! They are eager to have the music by the Great Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts!! I surely hope someone can help me find a cd for my Son!!
Sincerely, Paddy
I first saw Doug Clark & The Hot Nuts at Kellys Outer Banks Tavern, They by far have put on the best show Ive ever seen. I met Doug and talked with him a few times and Doug was one of a kind. He and his family no matter how busy the show was would take the time to talk to the fans and always make them feel welcome. Doug will be greatly missed by all those that met him and saw him on stage.
Mark
I will never forget the first time I saw Doug Clark driving a red convertable catallac. He actually came to pick up Tommy the piano player. Prince was with him and I thought they were the koolest dudes in town. I was about eight years old.
He will always be remembered as family. (Pat)
