Friends in Bangkok

I have done a bad job of keeping this journal up-to-date lately, haven't I? The week or so I have missed is a record, I think. I still need to get pics up from Laos and Sydney. Bad Stuart! Bad!

But really, nothing terribly exciting has been going on lately. I have been spending most of my time shopping and eating and going out with my friends who have been visiting from San Francisco. This week Richard, Michael, Manop, Gary, Rupert, and Todd have all been here. We have had a lot of fun at the weekend markets and the malls and the clubs.

The only exciting thing I can think of is that I might go with Todd to Vietnam in a few days. I applied for my Visa yesterday and basically have a month to use it. Perhaps tomorrow I will buy the ticket and be on my way in a few days. From what I have read, visiting Saigon will be a real adventure. Definitely more difficult than practically-American Sydney or even Bangkok. Stay tuned.

make sure your visa works so you can get BACK to thailand. no more visa headaches!

Actually... I am quite impressed that you have kept up with the updates as often as you do! So not bad stuart.

Sounds like you had a fabulous time in Sydney. And sounds like you are having a wonderful, lifetime experience in Thailand.

You know what I believe: who knows what the future holds, and things always work out at the end.

I think you have proven this belief to be true.

As always, let us know what transpires on your trip, this time to Vietnam. While you're in that part of the world, might as well!! :-) In fact, there are bunches of places you can visit that are close!

Start saving your pennies, because once this defense if finished, I'm going to start planning a trip to come and see you!!! YAY!!!

Love you!!

Yeah, as far as the Visa goes.... I have to make sure they stamp "Non-Immigrant B" on my passport ever time I come back in. Otherwise I will have to do this whole thing all over again. Ugh.

But, I am signing a contract on Tuesday and will start the paperwork for my Work Permit. Then I won't have to worry about the Visa at all anymore. That certainly will be nice.

CookieDoe, (hehe)

I agree with you 100%. No one can predict the future, but things always work out in the end. They might not work out the way you wanted or the way you planned, but, as I like to say, "It's all good."
